Mrs. Herring's and Ms. White's students at Ackerman Elementary School made a kindness tree in honor of MLK day. They learned facts about Dr. King and then discussed the importance of being kind to everyone and treating all people with respect. Students brainstormed ways to be kind and chose a way to write on their leaf for the tree. #teamAES

Weir Elementary School 1st grade students are learning about sound and how sound causes vibration and vibration causes sound. Here they tested sugar and sprinkles both to see if humming or speaker noise would cause more vibration. So proud of these little scientists!

Weir Elementary School 2nd grade students are having fun during recess building 100 cup towers. They are also 100 sprinkles smarter. Students were adding fraction parts of their sprinkled cupcakes, so proud of their hard work!

Weir 1st grade students are learning about sound in Science class. Today, students are learning the parts of the ear. The students programmed a ‘mouse bot’ following it through the ear to show how sound travels to the brain.
