
Mrs. Joni and Mrs. Holly’s classes at Ackerman Elementary School had a great time on their community helpers trip and to the Mexican restaurant.





4th graders at Ackerman Elementary School were rewarded for hard work on their benchmark tests. Students had Bumpers for lunch if they showed growth from the first to second benchmark or scored a level 4 or 5 on the benchmark!





Mrs. Turnipseed and Mrs. K. Tuck’s 1st graders at Ackerman Elementary School are using base ten blocks to learn more about numbers.





Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Telano’s kindergarten students at Ackerman Elementary School are doing a great job in their centers! These students are working hard on their independent work, computer skills, and with their teachers.




6th graders in Mrs. Johnson’s class at Ackerman Elementary School are rocking their Accelerated Math work in class! Keep up the great work!

Mrs. Woodward and Mrs. Hunt’s class at Ackerman Elementary School are enjoying a story before they start their group work for the day.


Centers were on the agenda for students in Mrs. Busby and Mrs. Cagle’s class at Ackerman Elementary School. These kindergarten students are doing great!





PreK students at Ackerman Elementary in Mrs. Lisa’s and Mrs. Margie’s class visited the Charger buck store and earned some great prizes for their good behavior


Due to MDOT Closing part of Hwy 9 past the coal mine buses 71, 78 and 79 will be running late this afternoon. They will have to take a detour which will take longer.


Ackerman Elementary School will celebrate Read Across America the week of March 2nd through March 6th. Students are encouraged to dress up to celebrate the week. The school will have special readers each day and will also have an appearance from The Cat in the Hat!


5th graders in Mrs. Hollis’ class at Ackerman Elementary School earned a Bumpers lunch for achieving 80% or higher on their tests for the last two weeks!





5th graders in Mrs. Miller’s class at Ackerman Elementary School worked on finding and analyzing text evidence from the actual March on Washington pamphlet from 1963!





4th graders in Mrs. Jean Maree Mcculloch’s class at Ackerman Elementary School who were Top Writers selected a Weavers Lunch as their reward!


Pre-K students in Mrs. Zirlott’s class at Ackerman Elementary school got to visit the PBIS store on Friday to spend their Charger Bucks!


6th graders at Ackerman Elementary School held a mock trial where they examined evidence and provided arguments to plead their case. These students won the trial for their homeroom and were rewarded with Bumpers & a movie during lunch.

Pre-K students in Mrs. Zirlott and Mrs. Fondren’s room at Ackerman Elementary School are doing an excellent job in their centers.





Several 4th graders at Ackerman Elementary School were able to go shopping in the school’s PBIS store. Students throughout the school earn Charger Bucks for good behavior each day! Keep up the great work!



Mrs. Utley’s 3rd grade PACE students at Ackerman Elementary School are learning how to program robots to do tasks and follow routes in class! They have just started their programming and are doing a great job!
