Weir Elementary School is so thankful for support from our community members. Mississippi Lignite Mining Company recently donated $500 to the library at WES. The donation will be used to provide more books like those pictured here. The lives of our students are enriched when they read and new books always make reading more enticing to the children.

WES 2nd grade students are learning about the attributes of 2D& 3D shapes: vertices, faces, edges, sides, and all of the names of new shapes hexagonal prism, triangular prism, and rectangular prism. They are finding out if they roll, slide, or stack and why. Great job second grade making way for fractions next!


Ackerman Elementary School would like to recognize Ms. Michaela White, who was chosen as Teacher of the Year, and Mrs. Courtney Hunt, who was chosen as Paraprofessional of the Year. These ladies are a huge part of AES, and we are so thankful for them and all that they do! They love their students, are always willing to help other staff, and always put forth their best!! Ackerman Elementary School - A few students in one section of 5th grade at the school have tested positive. That section has been placed on quarantine and contract tracing has been done. Thank you for working with us to keep our students safe.

**SOFTBALL REMINDER**
Day 2 of softball tryouts is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 20th. All participants need to meet Coach Steele at the field. Tryouts will begin at 1:30.

Students at CCHS will return to their regular schedule starting Tuesday, January 19th. Virtual students will return to their normal Wednesday afternoon schedule starting Wednesday, January 20th.


Fifth grade students at FCE had a little fun today working independently on a Geometry based activity. They constructed a cube, and then used it as a playing piece to work through geometric questions.



FCE second graders enjoyed working together to make a timeline of their daily activities. They focused on telling time, writing the digital time, and drawing the analog time.

SCHEDULE REMINDER
Please remember that the Mid-Mississippi Basketball Challenge scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 16th has been postponed for this year. There will be no basketball games for the Chargers or Lady Chargers this weekend.
